My Mighty Remote

Hello my little tuberinos!

Today is Valentine's Day and to mark this sap-tastic day, I will make my inaugural post about the TV shows that I love and love on these shows. Before I get to that, let me tell you what this blog will be about. It is about my love of television. I have been wanting to do my own commentary for years. If I could work for TV Guide in Michael Ausiello's new small office, I would. Or stand next to Kristin Vietch of E! on the red carpet, zoom, I'd be there already.

To my friends, I am the TV maven. I know what will be happening next. I know how television shows work their storylines. I keep up-to-date regarding most television shows, even some I don't even watch, just because. I have even been asked to be the television trivia person for the boyfriend of one of my best friends. I don't remember a time, don't remember havin' a life before owning a DVR. How do normal people function without one? Occasionally, I even revolve my social calendar to what important show and episode is airing. I can barely keep my DVR under 75% (normally, it's at 98% full).

So, here I go!

TV Shows, Characters and Storylines I love...NOW!
*Doctor that can check my pulse anytime: Dr. George O'Malley, "Grey's Anatomy" (both Drs. Shepards a close second - Dr. Jack Shepard and Dr. McDreamy)
*Food I hate, but love the chemistry of: Jam - Jim and Pam, "The Office"
*Wouldn't mind being insulted by: Paris Geller, "Gilmore Girls"
*Awesome use of lip-synching and dancing (by a non-popstar): Dr. Christopher Turk, "Scrubs"
*Their kiss is on my lips: Nathan and Haley Scott, "One Tree Hill"
*Looking for love, in all the wrong, right places: Ted Mosby, "How I Met Your Mother"
*Most idiosyncratic guy: Kirk Gleason, "Gilmore Girls" (close second is Dr. John "J.D." Dorian, "Scrubs")
*Schedenfraude: Earl Hickey, "My Name is Earl" (honorable mention would go to the girls and their "unfortunate" neighbors on Wisteria Lane, "Desperate Housewives". Notice how the show always starts off with Mary Alice discussing something bad is about to happen to one of their neighbors, like this past Sunday's slavery episode)
*Show that believes that constant love triangles are never overused: "The O.C."
*Best "FINALLY" kiss: Lorelai Gilmore and Luke Danes, "Gilmore Girls"
*Incredible usage of favorite stars from defunct shows: "How I Met Your Mother" (Alyson from "Buffy", Jason from "Freaks & Geeks" and Neil from "Doogie Howser, M.D.")
*Awesome creativity, even if it is not always finished: "Project Runway"
*Most beautiful love story: Sun & Jin, "Lost"
*Cutest on-air/off-air couple: Summer Roberts & Seth Cohen/Rachel Bilson & Adam Brody, "The O.C."
*Best place to start taking up karoake so I can bump into some awesome artists singing create covers: Java The Hut, "Veronica Mars (lead singers from both Dandy Warhols and Spoon have been there)
*Show I MUST watch as it is originally airing: "Gilmore Girls"
*Stuck on an island, any island, cast: "Lost"
*Suit-up!: Barney Stinson, "How I Met Your Mother"
*Mother-daughter: Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, "Gilmore Girls"
*Cutest boy from MA on TV: John Krasinski, "The Office"
*Greatest usage of a MA TV personality on the cover of a Boston magazine: Ellen Pompeo, "Grey's Anatomy" (I would've said John Krasinkski again here, but Ellen was dressed up like a doctor for an issue regarding doctors and hospitals in the area, so I gotta give her kudos for that)
*Best game/introduction: "Have you met Ted?", "How I Met Your Mother"
*Best usage of the word "love": LoVe - Logan Echolls and Veronica Mars' relationship moniker, "Veronica Mars"

That's all I have time for today. Hope you enjoy this first entry and look forward to plenty more.

Today is Tuesday February 14th, so tonight you should be watching...
8pm The WB "Gilmore Girls"
9pm The WB "Supernatural" or catch up on your DVR recordings (which is what I'll be doing)
10pm Bravo "Queer Eye" which I'll record and finish catchin' up on last week's shows, or maybe I should sleep and not be sick any more, hmm...decisions.

Don't forget that today "Grey's Anatomy", Season 1 is on sale. Cheapest I found it for, $16.99 at Best Buy and that's without rebates, like FYE has. But, standard pricing is $19.99.
